WOYWW - 15 February 2012

It's Wednesday again, it is 9.55am & I'm at home!!!!  This means that I will have some time to check out the great collection of work spaces at the Stamping Ground Blog for Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

I have a days annual leave for today and DH has gone to the Hospital for an X-Ray (to check that the kidney stones have gone).  So I'm home alone :-)

This week my workdesk is a bit of a mess (by my standards)!

Ok, so what is going on... I found a stack of Lili of the Valley sheets that came free with one of the magazines a while ago & decided to have a colour with my ProMarkers, trying out a couple of techniques I found on You Tube.  I was pleased with the results (you can just see a little girl in a yellow dress in the bottom left corner of the desk).

When at my last workshop at LLinda's Card & Craft shop in Laneham, Notts I found this great Spellbinders Impressabilities 'thing' called Butterflies and I just HAD to have it!!!! So I have spent some time last night & this morning playing and using the embossed/debossed impressions with Distress Inks to create cards.

Now I am just trying to decide if to leave it as it is or put a 'topper' or sentiment on top?????  Any suggestions would be great.

I only have this morning at home before going back to LLindas for another workshop (this time 'Take a Set of Stamps' looking at different ways to use stamps) and I can't wait.  I'm then off into Lincoln this evening for a Scrapbook Crop!  So by the time I get home I think I will need to go back to work for a rest... it can be so hard work having a day off.

Well once I have posted this I'm off for a look around other desks.

Happy WOYWW ;-)

  2. That is a fabulous Impressability - wait until you see the new double embossing folders they have. Got a chance to play with them when I was in America. Brill! You will love them.
Mind you I like the ones you have been using as they can be used in so many ways.
    thanks for sharing.
You still have time to sign up for my blog candy - it ends tonight - Hugs, Neet 29 xx

  3. Love your desk and the coloured LOTV. These stamps are so cute :-) For the embossed card I think you can place a sentiment at the bottom on the right side. In this case you can think... Less is more. Thanks for sharing and have a happy WOYWW. Bye, Franka

  4. I would cut out a square in the middle to reveal white card with a darker single flower to echo the flowers in the background. But as I'm not a cardmaker/stamper, what do I know?? LOL!! It's a gorgeous image though, very William Morris :)

  9. Your colouring looks fab! I never got into the impressibilities but that looks really interesting! It doesn't need much more than that maybe just a sentiment - would make a good thinking of you or get well card.

  13. Hi Helen

Sorry I'm late this week - ever felt like strangling British Telecom?

Thanks for reminding me that I also have that freebie pack of LOTV images - just have to find them!

Love the embossing - I'd probably just add a sentiment as it's so beautiful as it is. But, what would I know, I often fling too much at cards :(

  19. I like what you've done with your impressabilities thingy (what is that called, a plate? a die?). Maybe a nice wide silk ribbon with a knot tied in it around it? It is very sweet. Lots of things to play with on your desk.

  20. Lovely so far! I think I would just stamp a phrase and diecut it, place it in the bottom third (right side). Perhaps wrap a ribbon round underneath the phrase die cut to ground it.

The little coloured image looks very pretty.

  21. I've got some of those printed images, they've just issued some more as well! As for the card, personally I would stamp a nice vintage figure and add it to the bottom right, maybe with a tiny tag and flower or similar. You certainly don't want to put too much on there, it looks beautiful as it is
