Month in Numbers - August 2012

As it is now the end of the month it is time to look back at August 2012, along with Julie over at the Notes on Paper Blog (If you want to view other Month In Numbers posts or find out how to take part take a look at Julie's blog).

65 Medals awarded to Team GB in the London 2012 Olympics. Team GB achieved:
29 Gold Medals
17 Sliver Medals
19 Bronze Medals

36 different sports were featured during the Olympics, from Archery to Wrestling.  Over the 16 days I watched a few of the medals being won, DH & I cheered on our sports men & women, we smiled with them and even cried with them – what an AMAZING Olympic Games

127 Stone fragments passed by DH in ONE day.  OUCH!!!

This was the best (or it could be seen as the worst) day during a 2 week period.  I guess the ultrasound has done it's job and shattered the stones!

7 Number of roses in flower at once, we have only 1 rose bush which normally as a couple of flowers, this year we have 21 buds and these 7 chose to flower at the same time.  The smell was heavenly.

Month in Numbers - July 2012

As it is now the end of the month it is time to look back at June 2012, along with Julie over at the Notes on Paper Blog (If you want to view other Month In Numbers posts or find out how to take part take a look at Julie's blog).

174 Pictures taken at Waddington Air Show (During the Sunday displays - plenty of pictures for Scrapbook Pages!!)  this was in addition to the 26 video clips I took, most of which were of the Korean Display Team, which was amazing!!!!

1 This lonely little flower grew in the middle of the front lawn, I don't know where it came from - it just appeared.  Unfortunately when DH cut the grass with the lawn mower it was no more & I was glad I had taken this picture.

93 The age of Uncle Jack who passed away this month.

8mm was the size of the kidney stone that DH passed this month.  Ouch!!  We are hopeful that the stent will be able to be removed at the beginning of August.

This month saw DH & I visit the Eddie Stobart Depot at Crick & take part in a Depot Tour.  As it was the same weekend as the British F1 Grand Prix and Silverstone was slightly waterlogged, the F1 vehicles were staying at Crick :)  This visit added 122 new Eddies to my list.

I have now seen a total of 616 different Stobart vehicles and am 502 on the League Table.

Month in Numbers - June 2012

As it is now the end of the month it is time to look back at June 2012, along with Julie over at the Notes on Paper Blog (If you want to view other Month In Numbers posts or find out how to take part take a look at Julie's blog).

The first few Numbers this month were generated while visiting The Collection (Art & Archology in Lincolnshire) in Lincoln...

2,500 years that this Dugout Boat was sitting at the bottom of the River Witham before being discovered in 2001. Using the same technology as used to preserve the 'Mary Rose' means that this boat is on display in The Collection.

400 Mosaic tesserae used to create this mosaic design (however I must confess that it was not me who created this master piece) - This is one of many activities for children in The Collection.

93 empty seats in the 'Film Show; featuring object found in the museum.  DH & I were the only people watching the Film Show.

Now onto other numbers that occurred this month...

£26.00 spent on Plants for the garden. We brought a selection of plants that are now out in the garden & in a collection of pots in front of the house.  You just can't beat a colourful plant display in front of the house.

8 items in my Thank You gift to celebrate my 1st Blogaversary.  If you would like to be included please be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on THIS post

427 individual Eddie Stobart vehicles seen so far, taking me to 710 in the League table.

This picture is of 'Holly' this was also the name of the first Barn Owl I looked after - but I must say that my Holly-Girl was better looking that Eddies :)

Korean Display Team (Black Eagles)
391 photos taken at RAF Waddington Air Show on Saturday - then the battery died in both my camera & DHs (which I was using while he was working).  Despite getting wet during the rain in the morning it was a fantastic day and for the first time in 15 years I got to watch some of the flying displays.

On 23 June I celebrated my 1st Blogaversary, if you would like chance to win some Candy please go to my Blogaversary post HERE.

Month in Numbers - May 2012

As it is now the end of the month it is time to look back at May 2012, along with Julie over at the Notes on Paper Blog (If you want to view other Month In Numbers posts or find out how to take part take a look at Julie's blog).

4 Bags of Slate chips, This was used in the 'flower' border (not that there are many flowers at the moment), when we had the new fence put in at the end of last year we needed to add a couple more bags of slate to top up the level.

Over the next couple of months the fuchsias will start to grow & flower and we will have colour in the boarders once again.

5 Cards that I have made for specific people this month, this one is an image from the 'In the Heart of the Garden' CD

6 is the number of Birds of Prey seen on one trip home from Lincoln.  Between 9-10pm we saw:
4 Barn Owls (out hunting over fields)
1 Kestrel (hovering over a field hunting)
1 Short Eared Owl (just sitting on a post) - I know the photo is bad, but it was the best of those we took (well it was 9:50pm!!)

82 Eddie Stobart vehicles seen in just one weekend this month I think that my favourite photo is one featuring a 'Push-Me-Pull-You' Truck LOL

1012 On the Eddie Stobart League Table having now seen 301 individual vehicles.

1940's If you visited Bletchley Park this weekend you will have found that time had been turned back to the 1940's.  We ended up visiting both Saturday and Sunday - and we still have not seen all that there is to see!!!

Month In Numbers - April 2012

As it is now the end of the month it is time to look back at April 2012, along with Julie over at the Notes on Paper Blog (If you want to view other Month In Numbers posts or find out how to take part take a look at Julie's blog).

I have found it very difficult to create a list of numbers for this month, and even more difficult to use photos, in fact you will only see 1 photo as part of this post.  Hopefully May will generate more numbers than April, although I do wish that I had a way of being able to record the amount of rainfall we had this month!!

1 Easter Egg - DH & I decided that we would only have 1 egg each.  Unfortunately I was in such a hurry to eat mine that I forgot to take a photo LOL.

30 Hours - the number of hours that DH was in hospital for this month, Ok it was 1 overnight stay.  His kidney stone is now smaller than it was and further treatment will be needed over the next 2 months.

4 Hours, the length of time that I had to wait between DH texting me to say he was going to surgery and finding out that he was back on the ward safe & sound.

2 Family Birthdays and I created cards for both of them!  So far this year I have created cards for each person, this is a challenge that I set myself at the beginning of the year.  1/3 of the year completed on 2/3 remaining :)

27 April is DH's last working Day! Although his birthday is not until August he starts life as a Retired person this month.

12 is the number on the front & back of my new Honda Jazz, collected yesterday.

My new pride & joy :)

Month In Numbers - March 2012

As it is now the end of the month it is time to look back at March 2012, along with Julie over at the Notes on Paper Blog... - If you want to view other Month In Numbers posts or find out how to take part take a look at Julie's blog.

3 The number of nights I was 'Home Alone' while DH was away in London. I always find that it takes me several nights to get used to being in the house on my own as well has having the bed to myself... by the time I get used to it DH returns :)

At one point this month we had a total of 111 Daffodils in flower in our Garden - yes I did go round and count them all LOL.  This picture is of the area outside of the living room window (and yes, there are owls here too!!!).  We also have a number of other bulbs & spring flowers starting to show their heads, but you can't beat daffodils.

190 Miles to Cambrdige & Back for the Cambridgeshire Family History Society Computer Group meeting

1 unusual visitor to the back garden. I walked into the kitchen & found this pheasant sitting on the back fence just above Delta's aviary.  I don't think that Delta was too happy about her being there LOL!!

6 Nights away in Thetford Forrest (at Thorpe Campsite) staying in our caravan. We were really luck and chose the best week of March (last week), we had an amazing week and spent time just relaxing and going out & about in Norfolk.

I have now spotted a total of 188 different Eddie Stobart vehicles since joining the Members Club in December.  This total takes me to 1305 on the Spotters League Table.  So far I think that my favourite vehicle is "Molly Moo", I don't know why but just saying the name makes me smile.

2 Rides each on the 'Gallopers' other wise known as a Carousel at Bressingham Steam & Gardens. This picture was taken by DH holding out the camera at arms length.  It took several attempts to get this photo as we were both moving at different heights.  Just another reason to have a giggle.

One of the places we visited during the week was The English Whisky Co and took a Tour of the Distillery.  This visit was amazing and although I would not normally touch Whisky (I find it too strong) after the tour we did get chance to have a few small samples - After trying 4 different drinks I did find one that I liked (a Sherry with Single Malt Whisky added)

Month in Numbers - February 2012

As it is now the end of the month it is time to look back at February 2012, along with Julie over at the Notes on Paper Blog...

4 Tickets brought for me & 3 friends to go to the NEC next month

1 Snow ball fight with our next door neighbours

2 Snowmen in the garden, this picture is of Mr Frosty the 2nd.  The Original Mr Frosty lived in Canada back in 2009, unfortunately for him he only lived 1 day :)

Mr Frosty the 2nd suffered various health problems but lived for 8 Days.

57 Eddie Stobart vehicle (Identified by name), this takes my standing in the Spotter League Table to 2380 :)

This picture of 'Wanda' was taken at our local Tesco store as it was making a delivery.  When I went to the Club Stobart site to register my spot there was no photo.  So I uploaded this one & it can now be seen on the members site!!

OK, I must confess, 34 were spotted on one day! Well... we were sat outside the Stobart Depot in Newark (it is only 30mins from home) LOL.

1.5 The number of miles we were away from our destination when we slid off the road.  Both DH & I were ok, so were the Kids who were also in the car as we were on our way to talk to a local WI Group.  But our CRV is now in the car hospital.

-14 the lowest temperature I encountered during this month, while driving down to Cambridge.

30 the difference between the lowest temperature this month (-14oC) and the highest (16oC)!  Our poor kids (the owls) are getting confused as they don't know if they should start to molt their feathers ready for Spring/Summer or keep them on just in case Winter returns again LOL!

2 Is also the number of visits to Local Libraries with the birds this month.  During each visit the libraries have seen an increase in numbers, which has been good for them.

This picture is of 'Story Time' with many children all sat around to read a selection of Owl themed stories (including Owl Babies).

31 more ProMarkers - I admit I did have to purchase the pack of Limited Edition Spring 2012 colours (and very nice they are too).  As for the ones pictured... well I did not really buy them... well sort of, in a round about way!!  When I brought the latest edition of Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine I found that they would GIVE them to me if I took out a subscription... well as I buy it each month anyway, and they were offering FREE ProMarkers.  Well what could I say!

On the flip side I had already got 3 sets (Summer, Winter & Skin Tones) so I will be hosing another Blog Candy shortly to give them a new home.

Month in Numbers - January 2012

Over on the Notes on Paper blog you will find the 'Month In Numbers' challenge, to document each month based on various numbers.

So for January 2012, my Month in Numbers is...

1,000's the number of pieces DH Kidney stone was smashed into when he had surgery at the beginning of the month - Thank you to all those who have posted good wishes for his recovery, he is doing very well and recovering nicely :)

6 lbs of weight put on over Christmas & New Year.  Now the work starts to loose the weight again

7 years since Holly, my first Barn Owl, died. She was 11 years old & like Ufo (read about Ufo here)she had her own personality, however in many ways Holly was the complete opposite.  Holly was very reserved and her relationship with us was very much on her terms.

She came into my care when she was about 2 years old, she had been released into the wild by her previous owner (who was never found), we also know that she had been mistreated and suffered a broken hip which was never treated by a vet!

Over time & with much love and kindness Holly trusted me (and later my DH) and allowed us into her life.

16 New Stamps: During this month I have brought 1 Tatty Button stamp and 15 Lili of the Valley (although 12 of the Lili of the Valley stamps were in one pack).

47 People who attended the Cambridgeshire Family History Society Computer Group Meeting in January to listen to both DH & myself - DH was covering 'What is a Computer?' as part of the new Back to Basics series of talks. My talk was 'Explaining Blogs' and it went down very well - So a Big Hello to anyone from CFHS

10 Eddie Stobart vehicles that I have been able to identify by name - taking me to Number 3400 in the Spotters League Table!!  I know it is slightly sad LOL, but it is also fun :-)

6 1/2 lbs of weight I have lost this month.  I am so pleased that I have been able to loose all of the weight that I put on over Christmas/New Year, I can now start working towards my next 'Sliver Seven' :-)

8 Snowdrops in the Garden.  When we had the fence replaced last month I was afraid that my Snowdrop bulbs might have been disturbed.  Over the years I have put so many Snowdrop bulbs into the garden, but they only ever grow in one little corner (right by the fence!!)  However they have now burst into flower. I only ever would get a single flower, but the bunch has slowly got bigger over the last few years.

My Month in Numbers - December 2011

I have seen several other posts about Months in Numbers but did not really know where to start... then I found Julie Kirk's Month in Numbers Blog pages, which explained all.

After reading her 'Tutorial' I decided to have a go and see how I got on for December, initially it will be a list on my Blog. I thought that it would be a good way to remember what happend during the month using both words & pictures.

So here is...

December 2011 in Numbers

Our Advent Calendar (complete with Chocolates for each day)

24 Chocolates eaten from our advent calender

6 People attended our Christmas Meal, in our team 3 of us work in the Lincoln Office, we decided to all meet (with partners) for a meal out a Toby Carvery.  It does not happen very often but I even got my hairdresser to do something fancy with my hair for a change.  We all had a very enjoyable evening and it gave us all chance celebrate the year that was 2011.

5 Vertebra that were out of alignment when I visited my Chiropractor to sort out my aching back.

57 fence panels, gavel boards & posts. We had been talking for a while about replacing the fence around the back garden, this month we finally got it replaced.  Keith took down the old fence (which was well and truly rotten) and in its place put up a new fence (with 18 new panels).  It does look a lot better and we are pleased with the result.

14 Christmases DH & I have spent together as a couple, although we were apart for 1 Christmas we did celebrate Un-Christmas when DH returned.

12 people playing the 'Parcel Game' on 27th December. While visiting MiL with the majority of DH's family we all sat on the living room floor to play the 'Parcel Game'.  The idea is that you have a large number of small wrapped gifts (no more than £1 each) and 2 die.  All the players take it in turns to roll the die, when you get a 6 you take one of the gifts (if you roll a double 6 you take 2!).  Once all the gifts are gone someone sets a timer to count down - but only they know for how long.  This time when you throw the die if you get a 1 or 6 you get to choose a gift from someone else (or 2 gifts), this continues until the timer goes off.  You often find that one gift is the one everyone wants - this year it was shaped just like a Toblerone. Everyone then opens the gifts to find out what you won.  Once everyone has opened the gifts you are able to swap with others - So if for example you were a boy and received a make-up mirror, you would be able to swap it for something else :) Alternatively if you received a tin of soup you could swap it for a pen/pencil set.

525 Miles travelled in 3 days (to Devon & back) to visit MiL and DH's family.  During the trip on the road we always have to count something (otherwise I have a tendency to fall asleep while DH drives!!) so during this trip it was Eddie Stobart lorries (21); Caravans (66); Sainsbury's Lorries (39) and 6 Broken Down Cars.
